To link in with Donaldson's report, Ynysddu Primary School have completed a whole school Art week. During this week teachers created their own content with the aim of developing contemporary and creative individuals.
The Art
Week will run as follows
·
All classes are allocated a country that has qualified
for the World Cup 2018.
·
Children research art that is associated with that
country e.g. famous artists or movements.
·
Each class is then tasked with completing a variety of
art activities that week.
·
Teachers have free reign over the activities/lessons and should aim to include
an art/design activity each day. Any work that has been completed during the Art Week
will be collated in an ‘Art Week’ portfolio for each class.
Areas to
consider
·
Planning - children
are given the time to plan out their work appropriately and use a plan to
impact their final design.
·
Comparing - describe
and make comparisons between their own work and that of others/professionals.
·
Reflection - evaluate
the methods and results of their own work and that of their fellow pupils
through: discussion, reading, writing and reflection.
